A warm thank you to Bridget from San Diego California for sending us this tasteful and healthy low fat animal crackers recipe. For step one, please preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit, or 190 degrees Celsius. For the next step, please take out an electric coffee grinder, and add into it your thick rolled oats. Grind your oats into a fine flour, then pour this powder into a mixing bowl. You will then want to sift together the ground oat powder, rye pumpernickel baking flour, organic pure baking soda, Celtic sea salt, and pure cane sugar. Once these ingredients have been completely sifted together, take out an electric mixer, and beat together the flour base, vanilla extract, hot bottled water, and low fat margarine. Stir and mix the ingredients together until a firm and even animal cracker dough forms. Moving forward, next clean a flat counter surface, then dust it with a little flour. You will then want roll your dough into a ball, then flatten it using a large heavy baking roller. Once your dough has reached an eighth inch thickness, you will then want to dip your cookie cutters into flour, then cut out as many shapes with them as you can. Place your cutouts on to a greased baking sheet, then slide it into the oven to bake for ten minutes, or until the crackers are a light golden brown color, and crisp at the edges. Set the crackers on wire wracks to let them cool to room temperature. Cheers, and thanks for browsing through this recipe.
